FlightPlanner is designed to help you prepare a navigation and flight plan for a specified aircraft and to print the information on a Jeppesen Sanderson, Inc. navigation log and flight plan form. Weight and Balance data is graphically plotted on the center of gravity limit and moment envelope graphs. On-screen help is provided.

Aircraft:

• Data is currently provided for eight aircraft: a Cessna 152, Cessna 172, Cessna 172S, Cessna 182, Piper Archer II (PA-28-181), a Beechcraft Duchess (BE-76), a Katana (DA-20), and a Piper Arrow II (PA-28R-200). Data is included for climb, cruise, and fuel economy performance as well as weight and balance.

Flight Plans:

• An unlimited number of flight plans may be stored with a display limit of 72 plan names on the screen at any one time.
• Functions provided for entering a new plan and deleting/renaming/copying existing flight plans.
• Automatic flight plan file backup.
• Some sample flight plans from Southern California are included..

Flight Plan Navigation:

User enters:

1. Check points.
2. Course directions.
3. Altitudes.
4. Winds aloft directions, velocities, and temperatures.
5. Compass variations.
6. Magnetic deviations.
7. Leg distances.
8. Initial fuel.

Program calculates:

1. True air speeds.
2. Compass headings.
3. Leg cumulative distances.
4. Ground Speeds.
5. Leg times.
6. Fuel burns.

Features:

• Automatic recognition of climb legs for performance computations.
• Flight plan filing computed data taken from navigation screen.
• Invert flight plan.
• Data for airport frequencies entered for printing on flight plan form.
• Plan may have up to 16 legs (2-page plan).

"FLIGHTP.EXE" is a self-extracting executable which will expand into all the necessary files for FlightPlanner. After expansion, you may delete the downloaded file to reclaim the disk space. Execute this program using the batch file "FP.BAT". "FP_PROG.EXE" requires 409K free memory.

Note that FlightPlanner is a 16-bit DOS program and requires true DOS to operate properly. Under a modern system that means it will only run in an emulation window such as DOSBox. Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise, or Ultimate versions also have an XP mode that, in conjuction with the proper enabling hardware configuration, should allow it to run also, This program is no longer supported.
